This all-ages program will tell you why! Stacey “ The Bear Lady” Schmeidel, staff at Smith College and volunteer ranger at Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska, will offer an enlightening talk about how hibernation works, what to do if you meet a bear in the woods, and how to keep them out of your trash cans! Bring the kids too...we’ll have a bear-themed snack and Katmai Junior Ranger activity books!
